I've seen this car, along with other cars with this style called "streetfighter" and "pro-touring". What exactly does this mean? What constitutes a streetfighter or protouring style car?

A Pro Touring style car is a '60s/'70s pony or muscle car tweaked up to handle like a modern sports car. Modern engine swaps are common although many stick to classic carburetted ironblock V8s.

, I have no idea. Naked sportsbikes are generally referred to as streetfighters.

Here's how I define it: any classic car that has a modern powertrain, suspension, and modern brakes tuned with an emphasis on handling rather than straight line performance.

Pro-touring are old muscle cars built with a ton of power for drag racing, but with suspension and chassis upgrades so they can be tracked as well. As far as I can tell, 'streetfighter' cars are just pro-touring cars turned up to 11. The car pictured is owned by a guy who runs a website called thestreetfighters.com, so maybe it's just his own definition of what his car's style is.

I like the the idea of a street fighter car, as I like street fighter bikes. But does it have to be American?

I just came here to make a remark about Ryu's car.
BTW it could be the Honda/Accura Legend that one is supposed to destroy in Super Streetfighter 2 special stage... I always loved this stage bcs it had a car in it, even though it was neither driving nor car admiring.

I would think it would be more about straight line performance, since it is a 'street' fighter

A "Street Fighter" car is one that has been set up to perform well at basically all types of racing (drag, autoX, road, mountain , etc.) and it is still street legal.
